Obertauern – 1740 metres above everyday life!
The big advantage for guests of Obertauern is that the skiing slopes are all around the village. So you will neither need a bus nor your car to get to the slopes. The fun starts right at the door.
26 lifts and cable cars make up a skiing area of about 95 kilometres of skiing slopes the centre of which is Obertauern. All of the modern lifts make you forget what “wait” means.
The so called “Tauernrunde” holds slopes for every taste and
Skill. It goes from the family-friendly „Autobahn“ up to the challenge in white – the G2 (in the picture on the left) .
6 skiing and snowboarding schools make sure that everyone improves their skills and has more fun in the snow.
By now, Obertauern is also well-known beyond its borders for its Après-Ski. Many Après-Ski-Bars invite to celebrate, and of course, at night the party goes on in one of the many night clubs.
Another advantage of Obertauern is its reachability. To about 25 kilometres before Obertauern the A10 Highway goes technically to the foot of the mountains, from the North, as well as from the South. On both sides the rest of the way goes on along the B99 to Obertauern. You find a detailed description of how to get there at “Arrival”.
You should also see Obertauern in summer - no matter if for a hiking holiday or simply a toll-free alternative for your way southbound, or for a perfect motorbike holiday at Hotel Solaria. |
